Wild Plum

Wild Plum Home & Garden really started as a passion in the life of Laura Minto, a young mother of two living in Walnut Creek, California. A passion for flowers and floral design, for gardening, for decorating and for creating that perfect home setting. What simply began as a way to decorate her quaint circa 1920's cottage set on several wooded acres, soon became a talent coveted by both family and friends. After fulfilling a longtime goal of moving to the Sierra Foothills, Laura began to think seriously about opening her dream store and in 2000, it finally became a reality.

Starting with 500 sq. ft. of retail space, Wild Plum quickly expanded to 1,000 sq. ft. and within two years was preparing to expand to 2,600 sq. ft. with the acquisition of an historical 1860's building in beautiful downtown Grass Valley, California. The decision was made to restore the building to its original glory and almost 6 months later, the space was fully renovated and ready for a new chapter in an already colorful past.

Our favorite seasons here at Wild Plum are Fall & Christmas and we celebrate each of them with an annual open-house. The store is actually closed, the display windows are papered over and the transformation begins with the store being completely redecorated to showcase the season's new treasures. When the store is finally reopened, excitement is in the air as the window paper comes down and the gathered crowd of anxious customers are greeted with a wonderland of floral arrangements and seasonal finds.

Wild Plum's originality continues to attract a nationwide following that anxiously await their next visit. It is because of these loyal customers from around the country that we decided to launch our ecommerce site. We are committed as much as is possible to create an experience that rivals actually being in our store.
